Older Adult Group Training
Physical activity has proven benefits for physical health, including improved cardiovascular capacity, muscle strength, range of motion and balance. In addition, physical activity has demonstrated mental and psychosocial benefits. Middle-aged and older adults, in particular, show an improved sense of well-being and decreased anxiety and depressive symptoms with regular exercise. Regular participation in physical activity can also improve self-esteem and self-efficacy.
Starting or maintaining a regular exercise routine can be a challenge at any age, it doesn't get easier as you get older. This 6-week fitness program addresses four components of physical activity, balance, mobility, strength and endurance. Each 75-minute class includes an instructional warm-up, aerobic/cardiovascular workout, strength and conditioning, balance exercises, stretching, and cool-down in an engaging, safe, fun and social environment.
