Personal training includes:

  • An initial consultation to meet your trainer and establish your goals

  • On-going support, motivation, and professional assistance from your personal trainer to keep you pushing forward

We offer personal, 2-on-1, and 4-on-1 small group personal training, and sessions can be held on campus or virtually to best fit your schedule.

  • Ever since his early teenage years, Tae has been immersed in the health and fitness industry. Through his background as an athlete in various sports (basketball, volleyball, and soccer), he took his energy and passion to pursue a career in personal training. After 2 years of focused studies dedicated to health and fitness training, he now works with clients with various training experiences to assist in reaching their goals through fitness lifestyle integration. 

    Fun Fact: Tae enjoys and appreciates the elements of nature. During his leisure time, he loves to hike, climb, snowboard, and trail run.

  • Sarah grew up playing squash and riding horses competitively, and as a lifelong athlete, she has developed a strong understanding of movement and strength. She is passionate about helping people achieve their fitness goals while taking their lifestyle into consideration. Sarah believes that it is possible to restore the body while continuing to pursue any movements you love and perform at a peak level no matter how you choose to move. 

    Fun Fact: Sarah’s passions outside of fitness are golfing, hiking and traveling. 

    Certifications: NASM Personal Trainer, TRX Level 1

  • Kyle has been interested in fitness from a very young age.  He participated in a variety of sports including hockey, rugby, lacrosse, tennis, golf, running and many other outdoor activities. After injuring his neck during his last year of hockey, Kyle developed a passion for physical health and mental well-being.  His injury motivated him to correct his posture and muscle imbalances to overcome injury. This inspired Kyle to enroll in the 2-year personal trainer diploma at MRU to further his skills and credibility. Kyle is currently studying a Physical Literacy Degree at MRU. 

    His intent is to share his knowledge to achieve his client’s fitness goals.  This is a dream job for Kyle as he is passionate about fitness for life and loves working with people.   

    Fun Fact: When Kyle isn’t training, he is spending time in the mountains either resort skiing/ski touring, biking, fishing, or playing disc golf with friends.  Kyle also has a house plant named Gary!

  • Maxine has always lived an active, outdoorsy life that has grown into a passion for helping others achieve a healthy, fulfilling lifestyle. She has an educational background in human movement and exercise prescription and was a previous cross country running athlete herself. After experiencing her own injuries and setbacks, she decided to pursue sport injury prevention and rehabilitation in her Athletic Therapy Degree to help folks get back to the activities they love. 

    Max strives to break down barriers to exercise and promote an inclusive and accessible space for anyone to learn and grow in the fitness environment. Whether you are brand new to fitness and want to get more comfortable in the gym, or looking to optimize your workout for a specific sport or goal, Max is here to provide the support and encouragement you need to take your fitness, health, and performance goals into your own hands. 

    Fun Facts: Max loves hiking, skiing, ultimate frisbee, rock climbing, making music and art, and has a major sweet tooth.

  • Since he was young, Nathan has always been involved in sports like soccer, volleyball, basketball, badminton, Taekwondo. After he stopped playing these sports competitively, he found a love and passion for weight training and fitness. He decided to pursue his passion and become a personal trainer after finishing 2 years of the personal training fitness diploma program at MRU. He now works with all types of clients and loves to see his clients strive to achieve and exceed their goals.

    Fun fact: Outside of personal training, Nathan is a nationally qualified powerlifter with the Canadian Powerlifting Union. He also enjoys doing outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, and skating.

  • Lee was one of the first students to complete MRU's PFT diploma, and has since gone on to pursue a fulfilling fitness coaching career. 

    She spent time as a Health and Wellness Manager for Holland America Cruise Ships, working with clients from around the globe. She then travelled to India to live and study Ashtanga yoga for 3 months, followed by 10 years of teaching in Maui. Lee has also run her own corporate wellness company for 19 years, which allowed her to work with busy executives and semi-retired athletes from track and field, hockey, and volleyball teams.

    Lee loves to work with clients who want to work harder but smarter, believing that fitness should be fun but challenging. She lives by the saying “train people well enough so they can leave, but treat them well enough so they don't want to”, quoted from Richard Branson.

    Fun fact: Lee competed in Ballroom Latin dance and is also licensed realtor and interior decorator.

  • Kyuho has been a personal trainer in Canada since 2012. With his additional experience in personal training in South Korea, his ultimate goal is to help clients accomplish healthy lifestyles and optimal body movements. 

    As a trainer, nothing makes Kyuho happier than seeing his clients build a strong foundation in strength and mobility training so they can enjoy an improved lifestyle with their loved ones. 

    Kyuho is passionate about training 55+ age groups as he strongly believes it is never too late to build strength and enhance one’s fitness level. 

    Certifications: MRU Personal Fitness Trainer Diploma, CSEP-CPT, TRX and additional group exercise instructor experience

  • Jensen has been immersed in health and fitness from an early age. He originally began training for his sport of choice - motocross, hockey, and snowboarding - but after several major injuries, Jensen turned towards strength training as a means of rehabilitation for both mental and physical health. 

    Earning his Batchelor in Health and Physical Education from Mount Royal University, Jensen aims to utilize his expertise and academic background to assist individuals in recovering from injuries, building muscle and strength, fostering client confidence, and enhancing their comprehension of health and fitness.

    Fun Facts: Jensen started riding dirt bikes at 3 years old, and still carries a passion for motorsports and motocross.

  • From an early age, Matt was actively involved in team sports including basketball, volleyball, rugby, cross country, and swimming. Sports medicine sparked his interest and he decided he wanted to work the the field of health. He fell in love with working out and wanted to include friends and family, which is why  he decided to pursue a career in personal training. 

    Matt believes in creating an inclusive environment where everyone can have the competence and confidence to exercise for the rest of their lives. Whether you are new or looking to elevate your game, Matt will be there every step of the way. “Let’s get stronger, better, faster together.” 

    Fun Fact: Matt loves to dance - specifically hip hop - and it played a big role in his teenage years. Matt loves music, singing, playing instruments, listening to music. On his down time he enjoys occasionally playing video games.

  • Growing up, Kenton was heavily involved in athletics, particularly in the sport of football. Following graduation, Kenton obtained a Bachelor's Degree in the Social Sciences and an Education degree from the University of Lethbridge. Kenton intends to one day design an educational program for youth that focuses on the principles of healthy living, fitness and exercise. He wishes to instill the next generation with the knowledge, skill sets, and passion to live healthy and fulfilling lives.

    Kenton began his own fitness journey in 2015, resulting in a remarkable loss of over 50 pounds and a substantial reduction in body fat percentage from 28% to 12.5%. While the physical transformation is noteworthy, the most profound changes have manifested in his mental and emotional well-being. Enhanced self-confidence, improved self-esteem, and an overall positive impact on his mental state have been invaluable outcomes.

    Kenton firmly believes that exercise serves as unparalleled medicine for physical health, emotional serenity, and mental resilience. He believes that our bodies crave movement and the challenge to surpass previous limits. To ensure a long and healthy life, it's essential to actively nurture and strengthen our bodies in the present. He has instilled the belief in himself that there are no limits to what our bodies can achieve, and he encourages you to adopt the same mindset.

    Kenton is currently completing his Personal Fitness Trainer diploma at Mount Royal University, is a certified personal trainer specialist, and is a group fitness instructor at F45.
