EB 1014 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Though employees have been working remotely for years, COVID created new opportunities and impetus for flexibility in how and where we work. Research shows that working from home or other flexible work options can be double edged swords. Though flexible work options offer clear benefits to both employers and employees, there are risks and these risks can be greater for women and other marginalized or racialized groups. Join us March 22nd from 4:00-5:30. The session begins with an interview with Dr. Heejung Chung from the University of Kent and author of the book the Flexibility Paradox. We then hear from Tammy Arseneau, VP HR Suncor, about the employer’s approach to this new work landscape and Dr. Laura Hambley Lovett who has been consulting with employers for years to develop policies and practices around managing a distributed workforce. Discussion and networking to conclude.
