MOVE MORE Group Fitness

The MRU MOVE MORE Group Fitness program offers a variety of classes focused on increasing physical activity (e.g., strength, endurance, mobility, stretching, etc.) for MRU students, employees, alumni, and public members in a supportive and safe setting. 

Classes will be offered throughout the day and run in 6-week sessions. Students, employees, and members can purchase a “MOVE MORE Pass” or a drop-in pass for any class they choose.

The classes take place in the fitness studios and are led by certified student and non-student instructors.

There are two ways to MOVE MORE with us:

  1. Purchase an unlimited MOVE MORE Pass
  2. Purchase Drop-In Passes*

  • With the purchase of a MOVE MORE pass, you can participate in one or more of our exciting class offerings, including:

    • Pose Yoga: There's no place like Ohm. Build strength, and stamina, and improve your flexibility through flow, postural holds, and relaxation techniques. 
    • Power Barre: Reach for the stars with your newfound strength from increased flexibility, balance, and postural exercise. Come ready to work hard and leave empowered with this ballet strength and conditioning workout. 
    • Train Rec: Climb to new heights with our cardio intervals and strength training program designed to leave you feeling liberated and alive. This class incorporates strength training principles with a mix of cardio intervals by using a height-adjustable step and functional movements to increase and tone muscle.
    • Watts Spin: Whether you're just starting or competing in your fifth Tour de France, join us for drills designed to build power and endurance. With lights and music to set the tone, join our community of spin-goers who come ready to sweat, spin, and have fun.
    • Mixed Cardio/Step/HIIT/LIIT: This class will incorporate mixed cardio training principles to get your heart pumping. These classes can be a combo of different cardio disciplines including step, cardio intervals, aerobics, and circuits.
    • Pilates: This class combines the Pilates Method with props such as weights, bands, and small equipment to challenge your core, strength, and stamina. During this class, you’ll use your body weight to get a full-body workout while improving your overall body awareness and muscle tone.
  • What is a MOVE MORE Pass? A MOVE MORE Pass gives you unlimited access to our classes during each 6-week session. There are only 150 available and are sold on a first come, first-served basis.

    What is the cost of a MOVE MORE Pass? For each 6-week session, the cost of a pass is $60 for Students and $72.00 for Employees and Members. Taxes are extra.

    How do I purchase a MOVE MORE Pass? Passes can be purchased at the Customer Service Desk or online through ePlay. You can also purchase a pass throughout the 6-week session, and the cost will be prorated for you depending on your date of purchase.

    How do I register for a class after purchasing my MOVE MORE Pass?  Once your pass has been purchased, you will need to enroll in the classes you wish to attend each week. Classes will open for registration 7 days in advance and up to 1 hour before the class using the ePlay Activity Calendar

  • How do I purchase a Drop-In Pass? Within an hour of the class starting, check ePlay to see if spots are available. If there is room, a Drop-In Pass can be purchased at the Customer Service Desk. Please note that Drop-In Passes are subject to availability are not guaranteed.

    What is the cost of a Drop-In Pass? The cost per class is $6 for Students, and $12 for Employees and Members. Taxes are extra.

  • MOVE MORE Pass holders can withdraw from a class up to 4 hours prior to the scheduled start time. Cancellation can be done through ePlay or by speaking with a member of our Customer Service Team in person or by phone (403-440-6517).

    How to cancel through ePlay up to 24 hours in advance:

    1. Visit mru.ca/eplay
    2. Log in to your account
    3. Click “Transaction & Payment History”
    4. Click “Withdraw” or “Transfer”
