Fawaz Saleem (Bachelor of Nursing) has been selected as the 2024 Centennial Gold Medal Recipient for the Faculty of Health, Community and Education

Aliya Abdallah (Bachelor of Business Administration – Marketing) has been selected as the 2024 Centennial Gold Medal Recipient for the Faculty of Business and Communication Studies

Natalie McCallum (Bachelor of Arts – Psychology (Honours)) has been selected as the 2024 Centennial Gold Medal Recipient for
the Faculty of Arts

Angela Faye Galeos (Bachelor of Science – General Science) has been selected as the 2024 Centennial Gold Medal Recipient for the Faculty of Science and Technology

Any Mount Royal student, staff or faculty member can nominate an eligible student for the Centennial Gold Medal.

Nomination guidelines
Eligibility and criteria

Nominees will be considered by the selection committee in terms of the following criteria:

  • Graduating from a degree program at the upcoming Spring Convocation
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.7 or higher
  • Demonstrates leadership through involvement in campus and community activities


Nominations

  • Nominators must be faculty, staff member or a student of the university.
  • The nominator must complete the nomination form. After submission of the nomination, an email will be sent to the nominee asking for them to accept the nomination. Once both pieces are completed, an email will be sent to Student Awards combining information from both the nominator and nominee
  • Nominations are to be received by Cyndi Cave, Assistant Registrar, Student Awards with the Office of the Registrar no later than March 15 each year.


Selection Process

  • Nominated students will be sent a letter asking them to submit a resume of their work and extracurricular activities, as well as a short essay (approximately 250 words). explaining how their leadership has impacted the Mount Royal community.
  • The Student Awards selection committee, a sub-committee of General Faculties Council Student Awards Committee, will review the student's submission and select the Centennial Gold Medal recipient.
  • A maximum of one recipient per credit faculty will be selected.
