Mount Royal University has begun the recruitment process for an associate vice-president, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. This position is now posted on the career opportunities page; feel free to share within your networks. Having an expert at MRU to help build a framework of policies, procedures and resources, and identify opportunities, will be invaluable for meaningful and lasting change. The closing date is Aug. 22.
QLess virtual queuing system launching soon
Instead of physically lining up, students can join a virtual line from anywhere and wait where they want. Coming soon, students can download the QLess app or text to join the virtual lines to receive assistance from the Office of the Registrar and Academic Advising.
Monday to Friday mail delivery resumes Aug. 16
Effective Aug. 16, external and interoffice mail pick-up and drop-off will occur Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Print jobs from Document Services will be delivered once daily, five days a week. Alternatively, printing, mail and exam scanning can be picked up at the K105 window instead of the Cougars Campus Store.
Invisible Windows on campus next week
Be advised that Invisible Windows will be on campus to wash the exterior windows of the Riddell Library and Learning Centre from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 9 to Friday, Aug. 13 until cleaning is complete. Avoid areas that are cordoned off and watch for the temporary closure of entrances. Pedestrians will be rerouted to alternate access points.
Massage Therapy — pediatric volunteers needed
If you have children from newborn to 14 years of age and are interested in introducing them to massage therapy, come participate in the Massage Therapy program’s pediatric outreach. Thirty-minute and one-hour time slots are available on Monday, Aug. 9 and Wednesday, Aug. 11 from 4 to 7 p.m. both days. To book an appointment (or more than one), email rsteele@mtroyal.ca and include your preferred date, time, number of children and their age(s).
Cougar Classic Golf Tournament
The Cougar Classic Golf Tournament, taking place at the Cottonwood Golf and Country Club on Aug. 19, is always a top summer event for MRU. Enjoy lunch, golf, cocktails and prizes ― all while showing support for the MRU Cougars and student-athlete scholarships.
