Help in case of cardiac arrest

To increase health and safety, Mount Royal is adding 11 new automatic external defibrillators (AEDs) across campus, in addition to replacing four existing units. Visit the Environmental Health and Safety home page to watch a video on how to use this life-saving device.

Frontline URL is changing: Update your bookmarks

Frontline is Facilities Management's online system that allows you to submit and track requests involving key/access cards, building maintenance and repairs, furniture requests and more. The web address is changing on Tuesday, July 26 to https://mrufrontline.iwmsapp.com/archibus. Please update your bookmarks. A service interruption is scheduled to occur from Friday, July 22 at noon to Monday, July 25 at 4 p.m. For urgent requests, please contact the call centre at 403.440.6417. It's not too late to register for MRU Camps!

Did you know?

Mount Royal’s original location between 10th and 11th Streets on 7 Avenue S.W. included five buildings, one of which still stands today. Constructed in 1949 at 1133 7 Ave. S.W., the Kerby Memorial Building is the current home of the Kerby Centre for the 55-Plus and was named after George Kerby, Mount Royal's first principal.

Melanie Peacock becomes Western Alumni Association president

Dr. Melanie Peacock, PhD, associate professor of human resources, is the new president of the Western Alumni Association, which connects Western and its alumni and provides opportunities to grow and learn. Peacock won Mount Royal’s inaugural teaching excellence award in 2014 and was recognized in HRD magazine's 2017 Hotlist as one of the top 30 most influential human resources practitioners in Canada. LaunchPad competitor goes national

Fourth-year business student and 2022 LaunchPad Pitch Competition competitor Erin Creegan-Dougherty recently won third place in the EO Canada Global Student Entrepreneur Awards’ National Championship for her MRU-born business Maskwa Back Country Foods. She will share in a pot of $100,000 cash with four other winners. Maskwa Back Country Foods creates dehydrated camping meals for those with dietary restrictions and allergies utilizing locally sourced ingredients and traditional Indigenous recipes.

Start of semester emails, with option for distribution list
sign-up

As each semester begins (August/September and December/January), areas with ongoing employee activities can send an email to all employees describing their semester activities. Employees can then choose to opt in to that area's distribution list (Google Group) for regular updates. If you would like to send an email and/or set up a Google Group for your area, please contact Marketing and Communications for guidelines.
