Ya to the hoo
The morning — 8:30 a.m. to noon — of the Calgary Stampede Parade on Friday, July 7, is a paid holiday for all Mount Royal employees. If your regular hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. (summer hours), you’re expected to work the balance of the day (12:30 to 4 p.m.). If you’d like to take off the rest of Parade Day, please get approval from your supervisor and report the 3.5 hours as leave/vacation in your timesheet.

RLLC: Boiler replacement
A project to replace the boiler in the RLLC has begun and will be completed by Aug. 15. During the replacement process, it is possible that the building may be slightly cooler than usual. Learn more at mru.ca/BuildingNotifications.
Water valve replacement in front of RLLC
Beginning July 19, areas in front of the Riddell Library and Learning Centre will be cordoned off due to a water valve replacement. Work, which should cause minimal noise disruption, should be complete by Aug. 15. Visit mru.ca/BuildingNotifications for more information.
B-Wing: Hot water tank replacement
The hot water tank above the B-Wing is scheduled to be replaced from July 19 to Aug. 15. Water supply will not be affected. July Fitness Challenge presented by Fit Kitchen
This July, it's time to reach for the sky. For Recreation’s July Fitness Challenge, we want to see how quickly you can climb 60 floors — the equivalent of the Telus Sky building. Using one of our stairmaster machines, climb the distance, take a photo of your time and show it to one of our Fitness Team members to be entered into the challenge for a chance to win prizes courtesy of Fit Kitchen. Happy climbing!
Summer swim lessons availability
Recreation still has openings for summer swim lessons. The next lesson set begins on July 10, running Monday through Friday. Parking is free for all summer swim lesson clients. Visit the MRU Recreation website to learn more about our swim lessons and secure your spot today.
