Reminder: Parking detour from July 22 to 28
MRU will be facilitating parking for the CPKC Women’s Open starting next week from July 22 to 28 with revenue generated being reinvested back into MRU. Lots A, B, 1, 8 and East Gate Parkade will be unavailable and those impacted should park in lots 4, 5 or 6A. Permits will be valid in the designated lots with no action required from the permit holder. Daily parkers can purchase $7 parking via Hotspot using Zone 8000 for the week.
Save the date — East Gate Social Aug. 20
Join fellow MRU employees for the East Gate Social on Tuesday, Aug. 20. Drop in at the East Gate lawn area from 2:30 to 4 p.m. for a casual get-together to catch up with colleagues and enjoy a snack or two before the start of the fall semester.
New pay stub feature
If you’re a salaried employee, a new section at the top of your pay stub shows your job by position number, title, hourly rate and hours per pay period. This change does not affect how employees input their time. Pay stubs can be found on the Employee Self-Service platform on MyMRU.
G-wing renovation update
Hazardous material abatement in G100 continues this month as we begin to transform the former library space into a vibrant hub of student-based campus services and activity. Learn more.
Campus road closure until July 31
The main road (Mount Royal Circle) between the East Gate lawn and the EC building is closed until July 31 for construction work to replace a water valve. The road is also closed east of the soccer field. Signs are in place to redirect traffic. Learn more.
Pool is open
Following water restrictions brought in by the City and unexpected repairs, the pool reopened on Saturday, July 13. Thanks to the Mount Royal community for your understanding and patience due to these unplanned closures. And kudos to the team that achieved the quickest turnaround time for reopening the pool after a complete drainage.
Zumba in the Park
Join Employee Wellness for Zumba in the Park. Classes will take place from noon to 12:50 p.m. on July 18 and July 25 at the TransCanada Amphitheatre unless otherwise noted. Please come prepared with water and comfortable athletic clothing. Register for all classes or select the individual classes you’d like to attend. Learn more and register now.
Help bring kids to camp!
