New way to report phishing emails

 

An easier, more effective way to report phishing emails that also enhances cybersecurity is now available. Use gmail’s built-in reporting feature for phishing emails, rather than the Phish AlarmButton or forwarding to cybersecurity@mtroyal.ca. This will also reduce the number of phishing emails that hit your inbox. Learn how.

 

Annual space audit underway 

Over the summer, facilities management are entering all rooms on campus to update space information. Pictures may be taken to record the condition of finishes, furniture layouts and equipment. Please secure sensitive information. Email fm@mtroyal.ca with any questions. Learn more and view a tentative schedule.

 

Save the date! Employee Appreciation Day at the campus store

Wellness events to pause in August, resume in September

Inkblot Sponsored Hours of Service reset as of August 1, 2024. Employee Wellness will take a brief pause on events in August and will resume in September with the theme of ‘Navigating Stress’. Register for the Inkblot online webinar Establishing Healthy Boundaries on Sept. 11 from 10 to 11 a.m. Tai Chi classes will be offered from noon to 12:45 p.m. on Sept. 12, 19 and 26 in I124. In-lab artificial skin research awarded

Summer research students working with Assistant Professor Nausheen Sadiq, PhD, of the Department of Chemistry and Physics recently won first place at the annual International Conference on Analytical Sciences and Spectroscopy (ICASS). Student Lisa Tritz took home the top prize for her poster project titled, “Wait! Is that human skin? Optimization of artificial skin to reflect age and ethnicity to determine elemental risk associated with cosmetics using ICP-MS,” while competing against graduate students. Tritz collaborated with student Birhan Gezahegn, who won second place last year for the same subject matter. Sadiq also received the travel award for the inaugural GLOW 2024 conference for women leaders and emerging researchers in materials science, allowing her to present her research in Singapore.

Start of semester emails, with option for distribution list

As each semester begins (August/September and December/January), areas with ongoing employee activities can send an email to all employees describing their semester activities. Employees can then choose to opt in to that area's distribution list (Google Group) for regular updates. If you would like to send an email and/or set up a Google Group for your area, please contact Marketing and Communications for guidelines.
