December deadlines for timesheets and adjusted pay date

 

As we approach the holiday break, there’s important information on adjusted deadlines for timesheet submission and pay dates this month. This includes employees submitting timesheets by Friday, Dec. 13 at 1 p.m., covering hours worked up to Saturday, Dec. 14, and timesheets for the next pay period opening early, on Friday, Dec. 13. ITS update: Phone outages on campus Dec. 6 and 7

 

From 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7, there will be intermittent outages of Mount Royal’s phone lines due to a systems upgrade. These outages will last approximately one to two minutes at a time and take place four times over the 24-hour period. There are no set times for these outages. As emergency phones will also be out intermittently, use a cell phone to call 911 if needed; or the MRU Now app to contact Security for non-life-threatening issues.

 

 

Call for donations: SAMRU Food and Hygiene Drive

 

There’s still time to make a difference by donating to the annual SAMRU Food and Hygiene Drive in support of Mount Royal Students. Until end of day on Monday, Dec. 9, drop off items at the Peer Support Centre (Z210). High-demand items include deodorant, body wash, shampoo and conditioner, sanitary napkins, canned meat, peanut butter, eggs, cereal and canned fruit. Learn more.

 

 

G-wing update: DSR work underway

 

During the final exam period (Dec. 11 to 21), all work on the deep servies replacement (DSR) will take place between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. so as not to disturb students. Learn more. Work will take place during the daytime over the holiday break as campus is closed. Bargaining update

 

Meetings between the Board and the Mount Royal Faculty Association negotiating committees will resume in the winter semester, with scheduled calendar holds for sessions in January 2025. Visit mru.ca/Bargaining for updates. 

 

 

MRU Camps Toy Drive on now until Dec. 16

 

With your help, the MRU Camps Toy Drive will bring smiles and holiday cheer to children across Calgary. Bring a new, unwrapped toy to the MRU Camps office (EA1016) through Dec.16. Your contributions will be shared with local charities that work with children and families in our community. Thank you for making a difference.

Book treatments at the MRU Injury & Prevention Clinic before year end and take advantage of employee rates. If the online system shows limited availability, call the clinic to get on the cancellation list.

As each semester begins (August/September and December/January), areas with ongoing employee activities can send an email to all employees describing their semester activities. Employees can then choose to opt in to that area's distribution list (Google Group) for regular updates.
