Demonstrations on campus
Campus spaces are legally considered to be public spaces. Demonstrators on campus (including students, employees and the general public) are exercising their constitutionally protected right to freedom of expression by participating in peaceful gatherings. If groups are displaying graphic pictures on posters or in brochures, MRU puts up signage to make people walking toward them aware of their presence. We also let the campus know where these protests are taking place through an announcement on the MRU Now app. Students and employees who need further supports are encouraged to access them through Wellness Services or Employee Wellness.
