ITS update: Internet offline Sunday, Aug. 3

G-wing update: Main Street washrooms closed
As part of the G-wing renovation project, the washrooms along Levels 1 and 2 of Main Street are closed. These closures are expected to remain in place for approximately one year. To help you find nearby options, including accessible and all-gender washrooms, visit mru.ca/Washrooms for a searchable campus map. Look for signage on Main Street to guide you to the closest facilities.

Something new is brewing at The Table this August
A new café experience is coming to The Table this August. Chronicle Coffee Roasters, a family-owned Calgary roastery known for its locations in Kensington, Downtown and the Beltline, will be opening a campus location in the former Tim Hortons Express space. The new café will serve directly sourced coffees from South America, along with a full espresso bar and a range of iced beverages.
Academic Advising is changing
The way students connect with their academic advisor is changing. Instead of going through a centralized office (formerly D101), they’ll now work directly with an advisor based in their faculty. This means more personalized, consistent support from someone who understands their program, along with easier appointment booking and better access to guidance tailored to their goals. Learn more.
Important changes to EBSCO databases this summer
Effective Aug. 5, all EBSCO databases will feature a new, more user-friendly search interface. While most saved searches in “My Folder” will migrate automatically, we recommend backing up your saved searches and moving any important materials from “Custom Folders” before the change, as these won’t transfer. Contact your subject librarian or the Library Service Desk for assistance during this transition. Learn more.
Welcome new students during orientation!
New Student Orientation is coming up and we need the support of wonderful staff and faculty to help welcome our new students. We have various shifts on Sept. 2 and 3, including greeting, check in, wayfinding and more. Sign up now or contact orientation@mtroyal.ca with questions.
