February is Black History Month

The Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) at MRU recognizes that Feb. 1 marks the start of Black History Month. Black faculty, staff, students and alumni have played an instrumental role in shaping Mount Royal’s history and community. We will continue celebrating them both on campus and off, and we are confident in the future we are building together. Read more.

 

Budget community update

Thanks to those who participated in person and online in the Jan. 22 Budget Community Update, presented by The Office of the Provost and Vice-President, Academic, and Finance and Administration. A video of the event can be found on the Employee Resources and Timesheets page of MyMRU.

 

System maintenance outage

Student (registration, payments, and admission applications), employee and finance self-service will be unavailable from Friday, Feb. 2, at 5:30 p.m. through Sunday, Feb. 4, at 10 p.m.

 

Per diem rates revised

Effective Monday, Jan. 22, Mount Royal University revised its reimbursement rates for meals and mileage for use of a private/personal vehicle as required by provincial legislation. Travel and Expense Procedures Appendix A (Meals and Allowances) has been updated.

 

Leaders’ Dialogue - A Community Update

The second Leaders’ Dialogue of the year is coming up on Feb. 14. All MRU employees are invited to join Tim Rahilly, President and Vice-Chancellor, along with other leaders for a timely update in the Bella Concert Hall on Feb. 14, from 10 to 11 a.m.

New Main Street Table Booking Form

Event & Theatre Services is thrilled to introduce its new Main Street Table Booking Form, streamlining the process for a faster, more efficient service. Faculty and staff can find the link on MyMRU under "work tools" as Table Booking: Main Street. Club table booking requests must be submitted through SAMRU, while individual student requests should go through corresponding faculties.

 

Nominate a faculty member for an MRFA Award

Students and employees are invited to nominate an MRU faculty member for excellence in teaching, governance, and in advancing Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. Nominations are due by Feb. 15. Learn more.

Start of semester emails, with option for distribution list

As each semester begins (August/September and December/January), areas with ongoing employee activities can send an email to all employees describing their semester activities. Employees can then choose to opt in to that area's distribution list (Google Group) for regular updates. If you would like to send an email and/or set up a Google Group for your area, please contact Marketing and Communications for guidelines.
